Serving Our Community

Retired educators have developed skills much in demand in their community. Over the years, they have proved themselves to be well organized, skilful in communications, interested in people and community, helpful, and calm under pressure. Using these skills, retirees and seniors contribute significantly to the volunteer workforce. And District 48 plans to support their efforts in two ways:

We provide funds to support local projects under the Project Service to Others local program. You can read about it and download an application form the Project Service to Others tab.

There are funds available provincially for Community Service Projects as well. You can download an application from the members’ centre at the provincial website, http://www.rto-ero.org If you decide to apply for provincial funds, please note that your application must be approved by the District Executive. Please forward your application toThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Finally, a great place for you to volunteer your time is to become an active worker in District 48. Please contact any member of the executive if you are interested.
